It kind of just spoils the fun! What’s the likelihood of my generally nice character saying something that offends the other if we had known?I have to remind myself constantly that they don’t know much about them yet.

I much prefer learning along the way like in a regular story. And so do my characters. Eventually, when they know each other well enough, I might go back and read that bio. But for the starting of a roleplay, it feels like one big spoiler.

I personally find it rude that I spend all the hard work on my character information and headcanons, just for it to be ignored.

If it’s a fandom character, I play HEADCANON to it, which means not all the stuff from the show, will transfer to my version of the character. In turn, interactions will be different than the show.

If it’s my own, original character, then yeah… You need to read it. I’m not putting down every, single thing. I’m putting down important information. Maybe my character is trans* and hasn’t fully transitioned. Maybe my character is of a particular culture.

Obviously, you wouldn’t know.

You need to be respectful and read the information.
